Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a rite of passage?
A rite of passage is any point in your life with a clear “before” and “after” - something that marks a meaningful shift in identity, roles, or season of life. This might be something traditionally recognized (birth, coming of age, marriage, death), or something more personal:
A big move
A diagnosis or an accident
Ending a relationship with a friend, family member, or partner
Moving away from a belief system or religion
Changing your name or pronouns
Beginning a sobriety or recovery journey
Milestone birthdays (from coming of age to a century lived)
Becoming a parent
Shifting from a parenting partnership to a co-parenting model
Choosing to not have children (or coming to peace with that outcome)
Becoming a caregiver to an aging parent or sibling
Secondary experiences like your child learning how to drive, or your parents moving from your childhood home
There is no rule for what counts, and only you can say with certainty.
Do I need to have gone through something life-changing to share? Not at all. Some transitions are loud and obvious. Others are subtle and internal. What matters is that it meant something to you. Sometimes, the quieter thresholds carry the deepest wisdom.
What happens to my story if I share it? Can I stay anonymous?
Some stories may be included in the book or shared on this site. You can choose to remain completely anonymous or use only a first name. You also have the option to share privately, just for the sake of being witnessed, with no intention of it being published. Nothing will be published without your explicit consent and approval. You’ll always have the final say.
Can I mark a transition that already happened?
Yes. It’s never too late to honor a change. Sometimes, we realize long after the fact that something important wasn’t acknowledged. Speaking to your experience may offer a bit of closure, meaning, or simply space to pause and reflect.
Can you help me create a ceremony for a transition I’m going through?
In the future, I will be offering various levels of support in ceremony design, combining collective wisdom that's been shared with me throughout this project and an understanding of individual perspectives and preferences. Importantly, I will always include post-ceremony materials to support moving into the world with meaning and intention, as this new version of yourself. To be notified when these offerings are available, sign up here.
Is this connected to any religion or spiritual tradition?
No. This work is open to people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions. While I draw inspiration from cultural wisdom and rituals around the world, I fully believe that each individual’s experience should be shaped around their own values, story, and needs.
I don’t know what I would say. Can I still reach out?
Yes — especially then. You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Sometimes the first step is simply naming that something is shifting. I’m here to hold space, ask questions, and help you begin.
What does it cost?
Sharing your story costs nothing — I’m honored to listen and learn. Pricing on ceremony design and facilitation will be available soon. I believe this work should be accessible, and I’m always open to creative solutions that honor mutual respect and reciprocity.
How long do these conversations take?
Sharing life’s stories is highly individual. On average, conversations might last 1-2 hours. I will always respect your time, and am happy to guide our conversation at the speed that works best for you.
Are you still available for leadership consulting or psychedelic strategy work? Yes — on a very limited basis. While my focus is currently on rites of passage and ceremonial work, I continue to support a small number of projects in leadership development, organizational strategy, and psychedelic operations. If you feel there’s strong alignment, feel free to reach out. I’m always open to the right conversations.
