At Big Hope, we illuminate the unseen rites of passage. The pivotal before-and-after moments that shape who we become. Through collecting and witnessing stories, rituals, and personal transformations, we build a living archive of human change. Our aim is to hold space for both private metamorphosis and communal meaning-making, guiding individuals, leaders, and organizations toward deeper connection, clarity, and growth.
We all cross thresholds.
But how often do we honor these rites of passage?
Moments when the air changes, when the ground shifts beneath us, when life quietly rearranges itself into before and after. A career pivot, a big move, the end of a relationship, an empty nest, or simply a season of change that doesn’t have a name yet.
Some cultures meet these moments in ritual with firelight and song, shared meals and sacred words. Others move through them in silence — no less meaningful, only less seen.
I’m collecting stories and experiences in order to learn about the different, beautiful, complex ways humanity marks and processes change.
This journey will eventually take shape as a book - weaving together personal stories of transition, how they were (or weren’t) marked, what those moments meant, and what might have been different if they had been held with intention. My own story will be woven throughout, one thread among many in this collective exploration of becoming.
In the future, I will design and facilitate ceremonies that help people mark change in meaningful ways — blending tradition, creativity, and a deep respect for the unseen moments that shape us.
This project lives alongside my broader work - all rooted in transformation, connection, and the journey of growth. You can learn about my other projects here.
Your journey deserves to be honored.
Every experience holds wisdom worth sharing. If you feel called, I’d love to hear your story.
Here's how you can share:
Have a conversation with me about a life change you’ve experienced - big or small.
Reflect on rituals, support, or meaning-making you turned to (or wished you had).
Invite me to witness or co-create a ceremony if you're currently navigating a transition.
You don’t need to prepare anything ahead of time. You don’t have to call yourself a storyteller. All that’s needed is a willingness to share.
Whether you share privately or choose to be part of the published collection is completely up to you — and always handled with care and consent.
Our stories have the power to illuminate the path for others approaching thresholds of their own.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke
